Hunting is popular in Canada, there’s no doubt about that. If you’re going on a hunting trip, though, things can go south quickly if you’re not prepared. I’ve taken what I’ve learned from hunting in my past years to put together this list. Running my own Oahu tree service company for over a decade also helped me to understand the great outdoors. So to make sure things go as smoothly as possible, here’s an initial checklist of essential hunting gear and supplies that you must bring with you:
1. Food. Jerky will do fine.
2. Water. You need water rather than juice or soda, which may make you thirstier afterwards.
3. Map. By this we mean a paper map instead of a map on your smartphone, since this won’t run out of battery juice. Also, some smartphone maps aren’t really accurate.
4. Compass. Hopefully you also learned how to use this with a map.
