Where to start with your camping supply list

What most people do to set up a camping supply list is start with a basic camping kit.This would be the dishes and cookware. This could be in just one tote with

Coffee pot

Camp lite ,gas lamp or 12 v trouble lite. I used the 12 volt trouble lite idea for many reasons. The main one is safety then ,easy to use,cheaper if you are reasonable with your vehicle battery this works. If not it may be easier to use a gas lamp.

Cups mugs,drink cups

cutlery with can opener. The knives needed steak knife bread knife butcher knife. pancake flipper large spoons and cooking utensils.

Matches or lighter

Duck Tape ,rope

Fire starter try some different ones out before you go see what kind works better for you.You can make one out of para wax shavings and a paper egg carton. Just melt the wax into the egg carton you can even use dryer lint in the wax to start fires.

You will need a way to clean up a wash basin and a sink set up is not that hard to do if you try.

This is also where a rope comes in handy for drying cloths and tea towels which have not been on the list yet.

Then I recommend a camp kitchen.

The new portable camp kitchens are so cheap and functional it is a waste of time to try and make a set up out of heavy material. Most people take them home and adapt the setup to there own liking . I read up on them and most all customers that bought the camp tables and kitchens went and added what they wanted extra.

That is why I chose a photo with most stuff set up so you can get an idea.

I personally never use the metal cups and plates. I do not like burning my lips off on hot coffee and the plastic or Melmac plates are way easier to take care of. The best way is use the plates for liners for cheap paper plates these can be found for

one or two cents a plate on sale and just set them on top of the plastic and throw away or burn when used.

I found a stainless steel perk the best for coffee but you may try other junk if you like. I try and set up so the cooking and clean up is easy. This is supposed to be an enjoyable sport not a life sentence. I also use the water containers that are five gallon plastic ones that sit on the table or stand and have a plastic tap that leaks. The plastic collapsible ones in the photo work as well you just have to find what you like.

It is always best to take heavy duty plastic garbage bags out with you they have many uses camping.

Taking an extra folding table to eat on is cheap and easy today with the new portable ones sold nowadays.

Setting yourself up with a camping supply list is as easy as thinking of each thing you do every day you are out and writing down all you will need to have to enjoy doing it.

The next step is to make sure you each have the bedding and tent with a tarp or tent fly. Tent pegs.

A shovel is useful to set up a drain away trench for the tent if you are setting up in rainy area. More rope is also useful?

An extra tarp ? For shade as well as rain protection. Lawn chairs?
